Lock, Stock, and Over a Barrel written by Melody Carson - published by B&H Books.
I was so lucky to read this book! I have previously read the second book in this series and was thrilled to see that NetGalley had the first book up for review.
You can read the two books, and I think by now more have been written or in the works, out of order - although I don't recommend it. We get to see the evolution of the main character Daphne and the towns characters of Appleton.
Daphne returns home after working for the NYT for over ten years as a Wedding Journalist - for her Aunt Dee's funeral. To her disbelief, she finds out that her "Aunt" was actually her "Grandmother" and that her entire estate has been left to her - for a period of one year - with the condition that she is to "fall in love and marry" or else after that year she will lose the entire inheritance. Daphne is in a quandry over the entire situation, which is understandable. As you go through the books, you see her "romances" and growth in the character.
I highly recommend this whole series!

Wow - I have to say I would have never thought I would sit down and read a manga book on My Little Pony but thats what I did - I recently finished -
My Little Pony: Friends Forever Volume 1 http://www.amazon.com/My-Little-Pony-Friends-Forever-ebook/dp/B00KTOAHU0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1403732084&sr=8-1&keywords=my+little+pony+friends+forever+volume+1
I linked to Amazon so that way if you want to purchase it - you could - I did try to find it on the Book Distubtors website but I couldn't find it.
Who knew that there was a whole fandom of My Little Pony fans? I didn't. I have to say I liked the lot, the colors of the book were fantastic - the plot was okay - it was a little bit to "perky" for me - but who wants Little Pony that is goth? :) I would recommend it for kids - and maybe young adults. Thank you so much for letting me read it!

I am so sorry I have been deliquent in posting about the lovely books I have been reading from Netgalley. We are having such nice weather here, and with children, and work training, it has been kind of hectic to read and post about the books.
I read
I read
Nora Bonesteel's Christmas Past
A Ballad Novella
Sharyn McCrumb
About three weeks ago! I have to say that I was completely taken into the story and actually I was disappointed that it ended so quickly. A small town setting at Christmas - with a bit of a "supernatural thrill" to the book. Ghosts....defintely something was going on! I highly recommend this book!~ S

Just finished reading Grimm Fairy Tales Present: Code Red Volume 1- by Patrick Shand publisher Diamond Book Distributors.
Great storyline - the graphics were good- had a preview to Robyn Hood One Shot at the end of the book.
I never heard of this super heroine before - nor Robyn - but I totally got into the plotline - and dialogue!
Thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to read the comic!

I just finished reviewing Holiday Hats for Babies Caps, Berets, and Beanies for Every Occasion by author Debby Ware and published the Taunton Press Inc.
I have to be honest - if you are a newbie to knitting - this probably will not be the book for you - there are multiple knitting "styles" and multiple color changes - so if you are new or relatively new - this book is not for you.
It definitely wouldn't be for me :) lol. I managed to knit a Daniel Tiger Scarf for my son - with two colors - and that was my experiment with more than one yarn at a time :)
I do have to say the Hats are just adorable! They come in seasons, Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter - all name such beautiful names - Peppermint Candy Cap, Sherbet and Strawberries Topper, Firecracker Topper, and the Halloween Cap - all GORGEOUS!
Since I'm not a baby, I would wonder if toddlers would want to wear hats in a hundred degree temperatures? And I'm from the south - to me wearing a hat in the summer isn't making me feel warm and fuzzy thoughts :)
I wish hubby wanted some more babies so I could knit them a few of the caps :) lol.
Overall, I have to say I was impressed, with the colors, patterns, and overall feel of the book!
Please take the time to check it out!

I just finished reading, thanks to the great people at www.netgalley.com - The Beekman 1802 Heirloom Vegetable Cookbook - Just Wow - the photos blow you away - full color, and vivid - please try the Asparagus and Prosciutto Wrapped in Puff Pastry or Oven Fried Spinach. I don't know about you, but I have some serious Spinach lovers in this house and they absolutely love this delicious and healthy side dish!
Totally loved this book and thank you again for giving me the chance to review it!
